The GRAAD Custom Signed (CS) service is dedicated to signed collectible items for which you want to certify the authenticity of the signature, without subjecting the item itself to authentication or qualitative grading.
starting price 16,40€ / item
The starting price includes authentication of the first signature on the item.

Unlike traditional GRAAD certification services, Custom Signed focuses the examination on the signature present on the item. The signature is examined and authenticated by GRAAD in collaboration with the Associazione Periti Calligrafi Certificatori (APCC).
Custom Signed also allows you to choose from different graphic layouts for the label, so that the certificate can be matched as closely as possible to the style and characteristics of the signed item. The label shown on this page is only one of the available layouts: when placing your order, you will be able to choose your preferred design from the available options.
Once the authentication process has been successfully completed, the item is protected and encapsulated together with a Custom Signed certificate displaying the SGNT code and the name of the signer.
Custom Signed therefore certifies the signature, not the item on which the signature appears, and does not include any qualitative grade.

The service price includes one authenticated signature.
For each additional signature on the same item that you wish to have authenticated, you must add the Additional Signature optional service.
Custom Signed is designed for items whose main collectible feature is the autograph itself.
The service is particularly suitable for custom cards, promotional items, memorabilia and other signed collectibles compatible with the available protection formats.
The item is protected and enhanced through GRAAD encapsulation, while the certification specifically concerns the authenticity of the signature.

This distinction is essential: with Custom Signed, the authenticity of the item itself is not certified and the item does not undergo qualitative grading.
The certificate exclusively confirms the positive outcome of the signature authentication process.
The item is first received and inspected by the GRAAD team. The signature is then subjected to an authentication process carried out in collaboration with the Associazione Periti Calligrafi Certificatori (APCC).
In the case of an authentic signature, the GRAAD certificate displays the identification code and the name of the signer:
The SGNT code therefore makes it immediately clear which signature has successfully undergone the authentication process.
Custom Signed does not assign a grade to the item because the service does not assess its condition and does not authenticate the item itself.
The certification focuses exclusively on the authenticated signature: the item is the physical medium on which the signature appears and is protected through the GRAAD encapsulation system.
The Custom Signed service price includes authentication of the first signature on the item.
If the item features two or more signatures and you wish to have all of them authenticated, you must select the Additional Signature optional service for each signature after the first when placing your order.
Each authenticated signature will be identified on the certificate by the SGNT code and the corresponding signer’s name.

In the case of a forged signature, a CS (Custom Signed) certificate cannot be issued.
The item will still be protected and encapsulated through the Infinity Protection service, without signature certification.
In the case of a questionable signature, GRAAD will contact the customer before proceeding. The customer may choose to have the item returned or request further examination by APCC. No refund is provided in these cases, since the cost covers the examination that has already been carried out.
In such cases, an in-depth physical examination of the item by the Association may be required in order to obtain a definitive assessment. Any additional cost will be communicated to the customer in advance, and the customer will be free to decide whether to proceed with the further examination.
After the signature has been successfully authenticated, the item is placed in one of the GRAAD protection solutions compatible with its type and dimensions.
Encapsulation keeps the signed item together with its certificate, protecting them while making the Custom Signed certification immediately identifiable.
Custom Signed is designed for collectors who own an autographed item and want to enhance it through professional signature authentication and GRAAD protection, even when the item itself does not fall within a standard authentication and grading process.
It is therefore particularly suitable for the world of custom cards, memorabilia and autographed collectibles, where the collectible value may be closely linked to the identity of the signer and the authenticity of the signature.
